About Me - Not your Typical Accountant!
Who Am I and what makes me unique?
I am a fully qualified Accountant however I took a slightly different route to gain my qualifications.
First I studied Business and earned my BA Honours In Business Administration.
From there I realised I had a passion for numbers and therefore began studying with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). I decided on CIMA as I wanted to be involved in all areas of a business, not just counting the money!
After qualifying with CIMA I decided to work in business to gain comprehensive, working knowledge on all areas of business. I worked in retail, starting with a well known Cider Company and eventually moving to a franchised motor dealer group as their Finance Director. During this time I was heavily involved in advertising, customer satisfaction and retention, aiding the management team to become more commercially aware, business planning as well as all the financial aspects of the business.
In 2010 I was honoured to win the Motor Trader Business Management award, this was awarded to me due to the changes and controls I implemented as FD. During my time as FD
I have identified and implemented over £600,000 of cost saving initiatives and profit opportunities across all areas of the business.
I have always dreamed of working for myself as an independent Accountant and Business Consultant, in 2018 I finally realised my dream.
My aim is to take what I have learnt from my time in retail and help other businesses, not only with their Accounts and Tax Returns but with growing their business and aiding them in reaching their full potential.
I pride myself on keeping up-to-date with new regulations and am fully up to speed with the new GDPR, I have talked to a few business about this already and it really worries me the advice some have been given.
My promise to you is that your Business will always come first! I know what it's like to want to focus on important business matters and not have to think back to your last Accounting year!
